Welcome to Livin' in the Lou!

Hi! I'm Mary, creator of Livin' in the Lou. As a lifelong St. Louis resident, and someone who loves experiences, I've often found myself wanting to explore every element of my hometown. However, sometimes I run into the mental road block of wondering, "what is out there to do?" Since I've lived here my whole life, it's easy to get into a pattern of visiting the same places over and over rather than branching out. 

 

After chatting with several of my friends, I found they had the same problem - and that's why I created Livin' in the Lou! Having a space to discover local spots that have been forgotten about, overlooked, or they just didn't know about sounded like a huge mental energy saver and time-saver to each of my friends, and to me as well.  You're only on this earth for so long, and it's important to make the most of that time rather than sitting around wondering what to do.

As this blog/site is run by just one person, I highly rely on the recommendations of friends, family, and viewers to continue to suggest spots to be featured. This way, it becomes a melting pot of more than just the spots I am aware of. I welcome any and all suggestions - although I make sure to visit them first personally before writing about them to get the entire experience!
