A Night Out To Remember

This blog post includes some of my top favorite experiences around St. Louis. Why? Because each place on this list is a place or experience which is a little less common, making it all the more memorable - in addition to the fact that each of these spots are unique in their own way.

The downside? COVID restrictions make the visiting experience more challenging. However, the upside is that at the majority of these spots, an advance reservation suffices to ensure access for you and your group. Just don’t forget to check ahead of time that there is an available time slot!

Mauhaus Cat Cafe

At Mauhaus Cat Cafe, a group of you and your friends are welcome to enjoy coffee, tea, or smoothies while being surrounded by cats! The cafe features bakery items with a different theme each month, adding for some unique personality. The cats roam around a room specially made for them, with wooden structures and ceiling beams for them to explore. Plenty of seating areas are built into the structure for you to sit on while playing with or petting the residents. Most of the cats in this cafe are up for adoption - so if there is one you fall in love with, you can likely take him/her home!

STL Pieces - The Original St. Louis Board Game, Bar & Cafe

Although this spot is currently closed until further notice due to COVID, it is a place to put on your visit list when it opens back up again! STL Pieces is a cafe and board game library, meaning that visitors are welcome to choose any board games in the cafe to borrow and play at their table! With access to over 100 games, you and your group of friends are bound to be entertained for hours. The cafe offers brunch from 10am to 2pm on Saturdays and Sundays, and for those 21 and older, and happy hour on Thursday and Friday from 4-6pm.

Third Degree Glass Factory

Third Degree Glass Factory offers visitors the opportunity to create their own glass piece! With the Hot Glass experience, you and a friend are guided by an instructor from sculpting the glass to torching the glass in an entirely hands-on process. You are also welcome to browse the gallery of pieces which other glass artists have made which are available for purchase. Prepare for a toasty experience!
