Livin' It Up...In the Loop?

Besides the Arch, The St. Louis Loop is one of the most iconic spots in St. Louis. With over 145 stores, restaurants, boutiques, entertainment venues, and more, this lively street always has something happening for everybody. Named one of America’s Top 10 Greatest Streets, The Loop got its name for the fact that trolley cars used to loop around the area, bringing people from one end of the street to the other. Both the history and the culture of the street are rich: making it a perfect St. Louis destination! It’s impossible to visit everything in the Loop in one day - so here are some of the spots you won’t want to miss!

Blueberry Hill

A St. Louis classic, this is the spot you will NOT want to pass up. Blueberry Hill is a retro restaurant, bar, and music club with an atmosphere unlike any other. It’s a melting pot of St. Louis culture, specifically music centric history, from over the years that you cannot miss. What all began with a jukebox and hot dog machine evolved into one of the most iconic spots in St. Louis. With various themed rooms set up for live music, stars such as John Legend, Ed Sheeran, Nelly, The Lumineers, and Chuck Berry have performed for small crowds. With various displays of different themed memorabilia, such as Star Wars, Elvis, Pac-Man, and even Pez Dispensers, you’ll have trouble choosing a favorite element about Blueberry Hill.

Pin-Up Bowl

Walking into Pin-Up Bowl is like stepping back in time. Classic, one of a kind 1940s memorabilia fills the walls, specifically pin-up girl themed. Because of the small nature of the bowling alley, being only 8 lanes, calling ahead for reservations is strongly recommended. However, walk-ins are welcomed - just expect a wait! Pin-Up Bowl does serve food and cocktails, so in the event you have to wait, you can grab a bite to eat or drink.

The Moonrise Hotel

If you’re visiting St. Louis, consider booking a stay at The Moonrise Hotel. Located in the heart of the Loop, and only less than a block away from classics such as Pin-Up Bowl, The Baked Bear, Pi Pizzeria, and next door to The Pageant, it’s one of the most convenient locations to call home for your stay. The hotel includes several celebrity suites, each themed after a different St. Louis Walk of Fame star. Various boutique rooms are also offered. The hotel is even pet friendly - and provides pet beds, litter boxes, and treats. Be sure to save time to visit the Eclipse Restaurant, and if you’re 21+, the Rooftop Garden Bar, which overlooks The Loop.
